Taboo Is A Multi-talented Hip-hop Artist Residing In The Midwest. He Has Over 25 Years In The Music Business As A Hip-hop Artist, Dj, Producer, Artist Manager, Booking Agent And Recording Industry Executive.
He Began His Music Career At The Age Of 10 Deejaying/emceeing With The Satellite Breaking Crew. For The Next 7 Years He Would Continue To Perfect His Craft, Recording And Performing With The Group Wwiii. At The Age Of 17 Taboo Placed 3rd In A National Contest Earning Him A Label Deal With Sleeping Bag/defjam Recordings. That Same Year He Began His Work On The Radio, Becoming An On-air Host And Producer At Wqax In Bloomington, In. Upon Graduation Of High School Taboo Enrolled At Indiana State University And Became The Program Director For Urban Programming At Wisu For 4 Years. During This Stint, Wisu Became Recognized As A Premier College Radio Station And Taboo Received The Honor Of An “A-list Dj” For Breaking New Artists. It Was At This Time That He Also Began His Work As An Author, Contributing Reviews And Columns For Billboard Magazine, College Music Journal, The Source, Rap Pages, And The Indiana Statesman, To Name Just A Few.
Taboo’s Industry Highlights Include Working With Many Hip-hop Heavyweights Including Jay-z, Eminem, 50 Cent, Nas, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Twista, Kanye West, The Roots, Public Enemy, Run-dmc, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, And Many More. He Has Appeared On 43 Albums To Date, And Boasts A Catalog Of Over 350 Songs.
As An Emcee, Taboo Toured For Many Years Throughout North America, And Even Europe And Japan, Most Notably With Wyclef Jean, Lauren Hill And Pras Of The Fugees. He Has Released 5 Solo Albums, As Well As Recordings As A Member Of The Groups Ugs, Rawveggies, And Da Wolfpack. Additionally, Taboo Has Featured On Over 160 Recordings Of Other Artists.
As A Dj He Has Been Blessed To Be An On-air Radio Personality, A Tour Dj, A Club Dj, And A Notable Mix-tape Dj- And Has Released 17 Mix Cd’s Using The Moniker Of Dj B-one. He Even Served As Official Team Dj Of The Nba’s Milwaukee Bucks For 2 Years.
