As a heartfelt thank-you to an admirer, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a moving new family photo.
The unexpected gift from Kensington Palace, which was followed by a personal note, was in response to a holiday card sent by a royal fan.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are pictured with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, outside Sandringham Church for the Christmas Day ceremony.
Taking to social media to share their letters with the rest of the world, an account called Duchess of Wonderland displayed the picture, calling it a “lovely surprise.”
“Thank you for your thoughtful Christmas message to The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis,” the royal statement said.Their Royal Highnesses are thankful and extend their fondest wishes for a joyous New Year.”
The royal admirer was fortunate to receive a response from another member of the Royal Family earlier this year, as they penned in January: “Received the most lovely of surprises today, a personalised thank you card for my Christmas wishes from the Queen Consort.”

Camilla reclined in a sunny yard with tea and a bowl of peaches, as depicted on the card.
In line with a long-standing holiday custom, nearly the entire Royal Family converged on Sandringham at the end of last year to enjoy Christmas.
King Charles led his family from their Sandringham Estate to St Mary Magdalene church for the annual ceremony, escorted by top members of The Firm.
Kate had spoken before a carol performance at Westminster Abbey several days earlier about how it was a moving time for the family because it was their first Christmas since the late Queen’s passing.
“Her Majesty leaves us with an incredible legacy, one that has deeply inspired many of us,” she said.
Charles’ first Easter holiday as King will be another poignant milestone for the Royal Family next weekend.
As in previous years, the royals are anticipated to spend the weekend at Windsor before attending the Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are unlikely to attend the festivities.
