When taking a photo of the tree ornaments the flash appears too bright in auto mode. Is there a diy to direct the flash or mute it?

Hi 🙋♀️ I‘m having a baby in March and the sweet spot for maternity pictures is mid December. As I’m a pretty big Christmas nut anyway I really really want a cosy Christmas maternity shoot. To make it extra cosy and special I’d really like a photographer come to our house. Do you have any Tipps on how to set up / what to consider while decorating so that the photographer will be able to work well even though they’re not in a studio? I would be very grateful! Definitely wrote down a couple of Tipps from this video already, thank you 🙏

My trick when my dog didn’t want to sit still for treats was a fuzzy bean bag chair. She laid in it while I asked her questions so she’d cock her head. She unfortunately passed in June, so no Christmas photos this year, but will be keeping up the tradition with my next dog
