Man, were values given for 35mm sensor or Fujifilm APS-C? Generally Fuji channel, but Canon on thumbnail.
In theory sure, In reality large group photos will most likely never fit with a 50 let alone 100

How do you feel about composite photos for huge groups? I hear that’s common for school photos these days, shooting them in groups of 1-5 and combining them in post.
All in full frame? So for Fuji X with the APS-C 1.5 crop, your “good” 35-50mm is ~23-35?
Really good video thx been shooting 10+ years always used the 20 or 35 for groups. i have a wedding in 2 weekend going to pull out the 85 for the group shots this time, nerver even tryed a long lens maby its because Group shoots always stresses me out and hate doing them, thx for the stacking advice so basic but still overlooked I feel like a rookie lol

Right on time! I've been thinking how I'm going to get my big family reunion photo next month with everybody: 50 people. I guess it's me on the roof with an 80mm macro. Still worried.

So the best lens is….Tamron 35-150
I find I can almost always get everybody in with a 35mm. I jump to a 24 if I want it more of a "I am there" "in the action" look.
i use APSC (Nikon)- so if you say '35mm' , would I use a 35mm focal length or something 'equivalent' like 28mm?

Thanks for the video! But I have a question: for example, outdoor group shots where there are three rows or more. What aperture do you use at 50mm? Do you ask the subjects to stand as still as possible if you shoot at a low aperture (f4, 5.6, etc.)?
I always hated these group photos, now I know why. I'd been making the mistake of shooting too wide. I saw this video a few hours before a gig this weekend and my group photo is no longer the weakest photo in my shoot. Thanks big O
eight or more I bring out a 85mm if possible. Wider is only if I can't get an 85mm. but yup in a wedding group the 24mm is king unfortunately.
Perfect! Just what I needed…I'm shooting 35 families this coming weekend at a resort and then one pic of them all together!! I'm now bringing my 85mm 1.4 along with either my 70-200 or 120-300 2.8. Leaving the wide angle at home

This was awesome thanks! I really learned a ton! I just upgraded to a Nikon Z6ii with a 35mm & 85mm Z lenses. I don’t have any others yet! So this was great to hear I could should a group with an 85mm too. I loved learning how things are distorted and all the examples! Xoxoxo

Really helpful Omar. Thank you. I’ve made the wide-angle mistake with the 10-24. My son on the edge of the group took one look at the image and said he was going on a diet. I did own up though😇
