This is a third video that talks about how the color grading is too vibrant, glad it does, hope it reaches the movie crew, it’s probably too late for them to correct but let’s hope they do.
Issues I noticed
1. Very blue sky background – like a mobile video, sky in a war movie has to be dramatic with dark/orange clouds.
2. Color matching with Bahubali palatte- that’s worked for Bahubali because Telugu movies are known for that. I thought Mani would differentiate that.
3. But if 300 kind of a color grading or even KGF style color grading could have been good.
4. Lighting – I expected more of fire based lights to match the period but everything looks too exposed.
Bro one more thing I don't like in tamil movies is that you can see that even inside the houses when there are closeup shots are showed. You can see that the iris is not dilated which means that there is a lot of light inside the room. This is one tiny detail I observed in Tamil movies. Did anyone else notice it and felt wrong or is it only me?

Yes. I also felt it that colours seems to be over saturated and so vibrant. According to me, the amber tone of the starting sequence of dasavatharam brilliantly encapsulates the 12th century cholan era, as there were no practical lights in those days except fire torches and elevated the tension of that situation. When I read Ponniyin selvan before, I visualized it with the tone of dasavatharam and shots from Ben Hur. I expected a similar tone for Ponniyin Selvan. Teaser of Ponniyin selvan had a look of a fantasy world, than more of a periodical world of Cholan era.
