Complete Children’s Portrait Tutorial: Lighting + Shooting + Editing

In this video, we’ll walk you through an entire autumn children’s portrait, featuring our adorable model Kaylin. You’ll learn what gear we used, how we conceptualized and lit the shot, and finally, how we finished it off with some editing finesse in Lightroom. A special thank you to Profoto for sponsoring this video and allowing us to bring such full-form, quality education to our YouTube platform.

A fine tutorial. Unfortunately, Open as layers in Photoshop is a function only available in Classic. As far as I can tell, it can't be done in Lightroom CC.

I tried to do the floating leaf photos so many times and only now I learnt about taking separate photos and layering/blending them into photoshop. Thank you so much for this!

I couldn't figure out the "painting" of the eyes. What tool was that?

if u use one preset after another, here visual flow preset, then radial filter preset, won't one overwrite the changes made by the former?

Pye. Dude! I always struggled with 'flyaways' before (for just the reasons you stated). What a great shortcut to 'disconnect' them. Thanks!

Hi. I would really appreciate some help. I got stuck where you adjust the strength of the radial burn. I have a mac: opt+click+drag. It just doesn’t work for me. I press option and click and when I try to drag, it drags the whole filter. It doesn’t adjust the strength. How to fix this? If someone knows please let me know. I will try to find out in the meantime. Thanks

I don't know why masking is such a PITA only for me damn … ok can someone explain this without the jump arounds? After you mask one, what's the next step to get the other leaves to come in without double stepping with duplicates and such?
