In this video you’ll learn how to automatically refocus by using AFC Auto Focus Continuous aka AI Servo in Canon DSLRs. This helps you take pictures of kids running around. There are other modes also like AFA Auto focus auto and AFA auto focus single aka One Shot in Canon dslrs.

Camera used in this video was Nikon D7000

I see that in many tutorial, they recommend AF-C for sports and wildlife even when the subject is moving from left to right and you are panning. But as per your demo it seems, AF-C useful only when the subject is moving towards the camera or away from it. So guess AF-C when panning is not the right mode?

Great tutorial thanks, but say you're on aperture priority, if the object is coming towards you, it will eventually go beyond the DOF range and lose focus, even with AF-C continuously trying to focus. How to avoid that situation?

Ok, I know when you are doing portrait shots you're supposed to focus on the eyes…so does that mean to focus directly on one of their eyes or in between their eyes? Or is there a way to have more than one focus point? Also, where should you focus if you're taking a pic of 2 people? A group of people? I love your videos and fb page! I'm learning so much from you!

@PhotographersOnUTube OK, thanks…….I don't have 3d tracking, but I do have continuous shooting (10 images/sec) so I think I will try that out for starters! I wish I didn't panic with my camera when a new photo opportunity comes up!! *Sigh* Thank you for the great vids! :o)

Great explanation – I have a question though! Would you suggest the above for quick moving subjects or the sports choice in the scene selection, please? (I have a sony a55 btw!) Thanks!
