Hm, I'm a little confused with the problem here, but I did get an interesting idea for raytracing. Maybe you could implement an algorithm that is shooting rays out randomly at first, but then as the rays hit objects it starts weighting itself to focus more on closer objects, then you could fill in the less focused parts with a blurrier approximate, but since it's further away it will be less noticeable.
So old photos where people are blured to be anonymous…. is not anonymous anymore….
Unfortunately typically phones have a multiplexed bus which doesn't permit several cameras to be used at the same time. So while software works now, hardware will have to grow to accommodate.
my phone has a refocus feature long before AI was a thing on smartphones lol and I still am baffled about how it works

From a personal privacy perspective, this is worrying. Especially for blurred images that are purposely done for privacy and safety.
Finally we can see all the UFOs… Also every video where people blur things like nudity can be deblurred now…

I'm not a doctor & I don't care, I like 2MP, even if Dr. Zsolnai-Fehér says it's just for Doctors (presumably with a sniff & an upturned nose).

Samsung has been doing this for a few years by taking 2 photos with different focus, and Google is doing something similar with a feature that doesn't let the photo get blurred on Google Camera in quick movements introduced in Google Pixel 6 I think
Dude WTF are you talking about? For a researcher you sure did no research into cameras. All you have to do is check a few websites to see the statistics on iPhone photos and which lenses are used and you can see the Ultra Wide lenses are actually used quite a bit more than a telephoto lens and almost as much as the standard lens. They aren’t overlooked and they’re utilized constantly. Ultra Wide lenses are amazing. Just because you don’t know about it and you don’t use it doesn’t mean everybody else’s is clueless.

I can imagine it coming to Google Photos app sometime in near future
