Thanks Nathan. This AI subject has been pervasively on my mind for months. I feel more secure after watching this video. I get my physical copy of Mastering Flambient Photography on or before Sunday. I can’t wait. I loved the interiors book. Thanks again.
So far I've only used it to remove unwanted objects, not add objects. For instance, a huge dumpster in front of a house where there was no avoiding it in the shot. AI to rescue, made my job a lot easier as its fill would get me 90% there so I just did some patch work to bring it to 100%.
We have plenty of job security, most top level real estate agents even if they could get some newfangled 3-D camera which they have out now that supposedly puts out these awesome real estate photos they don’t have time for that BS nor do they know what angles to shoot how to do all the stuff, the Nathan teachers in his books there is no AI robot box back and walk around the room and do five flash pops and a window pull. What it’s going to look like is the HDR photography from several years ago I think our job security is going to be just fine.
Although I don't disagree that our job is relatively safe, I feel like the idea that someone will in the very near future be able to run through the house with a 3D camera and come out with stunning photos because AI can turn them into photos like we see RE photographers take today isn't far fetched. Right now it may not be there, but think about how fast this even happened — surely it won't take long to refine itself, which is a little worrisome.
I've always been under the impression where it'll come down to people knowing how to use it and use it optimally versus those who don't that'll make the difference in whether or not you stay relevant.
Where I live in Japan, the government has decided that there is no copyright related to AI training. So if your images can bee seen on the web, they can be scraped and used to train AI systems under Japanese law.
