Energy bills for UK businesses will be cut by around half their expected level this winter as part of a government support scheme.
Business Secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg says it’s difficult to say exactly how much the package will cost.

Christmas is cancelled as far as I'm concerned. Truss has done nothing for low paid workers, the tax cuts will be negligible. But hey the big earners will be thousands of pounds richer.
What a complete and utter Tory, the dimwit blabs on, people voted this plonker in
our next prime minister 🤩🇬🇧
Tax payer inherits debt. Just defer payments for the newborns
Title: Tax payers cut business energy bills in half
Tory interference with business…. End of capitalism. UK is going down the drain. Oh, and who is paying for this?
Pity some businesses have already closed. Does RM not realise that paid holidays are part of a remuneration package. They are paid by the year, and this is spread out over 12 months, including holidays. I'm not sure that executives have a 'moral' right to huge bonuses.
A trickle down approach, which most of the savings made by big businesses will go into the bank accounts of rich shareholders, very little will end up reaching the middle and lower classes
Yes yes yes I’ve been eating Australian beef again, Jeeves bring me a sherry NOW, jacobsed cream crackered again , absolutely shameful
So sounds like the government is going to cover the cost.
I hope the UK finances are in good shape otherwise this might cause some problems
GO ON MOGG.
all these multi millionaire politicians saying they are helping us by making them richer 🤣
How long is it going to take for them to admit that trickle down economics doesn’t work.
If ever there’s a person blagging a living it’s this mong

UK may 'go back to pre-industrial revolution' times as energy crisis worsens
"Most People Have No Idea What’s Coming"- Gerald Celente's Warning
It's ok if we all struggling as long as buisness and the economy can stay open that's the important thing.
There won't be any people or money in people's pockets left to provide those buisness with their profits soon enough.
As the UK descends into a UK Government chosen 'war economy' they haven't even begun to annouce food rationing proposals or any 'dig for victory' campaigns to keep the poorest and more vulnarable fed. They will be starved to death for the Great Reset instead because they are viewed as useless eaters.
Stop dicking around & just nationalise the bloody lot now until this whole sorry mess is over! .
Germany has the right idea.
Price controls on hyperinflationary cost items will always be doomed to failure.
The food crisis and planned Holodomor will be the real killer in 2023/24 and attempts to blame a 3rd party will fail spectacularly.
