Her critical thinking skills are strong, especially for one in that family. Shes such a well rounded open minded person! I love how shes not sheltering her kids and is choosing to give them the decision on wether or not to be in the public eye.

It’s great that she gathered the courage to speak up. Jinger is living her best life and she’s not hurting anyone else in doing this. If her family feels hurt over it, that’s on them. And with the alcohol thing, I choose not to drink because it makes me feel sick and I don’t really like the taste. It has nothing to do with religion. Seems like it’s the same with her.
As a devout Christian I first found the family sweet but became dismayed as the show progressed. I feel the most for boys raised under this system because I could see how its teachings on sexuality infantilize boys and keep them trapped in immaturity which ultimately belittles them. Once, horrified, I heard the mom explain how girls of the family had code words any girl was to call out when the family was walking and a girl spotted an immodestly dressed girl or woman which were cues for the boys to turn their heads away so as not to be tempted to lust. The girls of the family always walked in front of the boys to protect their brothers from sights they supposedly could not handle in a mature way simply by virtue of being boys. How demeaning! It seems a dual recipe for emasculating men and burdening women with the responsibility of gatekeeping male minds. The path to sexual maturity proposed by this system seems to be to deny, abort and turn from all sexual images, thoughts, imaginations, sensations and experiences until marriage whereupon suddenly a Christian man's and Christian woman's sexual expressions and feelings for one another will spring forth pure and wholesome. In truth sexual understanding and identity develop gradually. Young people are supposed to have sexual feelings and imaginations. Nowhere in the Bible is masturbation forbidden. While all sex outside marriage is forbidden there is only one particular form that is addressed in the ten commandments because this form is much more egregious and harmful than other forbidden forms of sexual expression. That form of course is marital unfaithfulness. The key element of the crime is not that it involves sex but that it involves betrayal. There seems no gradation and nuance in the Gothard understanding of sexuality. Given the lack of confidence Gothard inculcated in boys it is not surprising grown Duggar sons aren't nearly as outspoken and openly questioning as the daughters. Still the most bizarre concept is that every couple should have as many children as naturally derive from sexual activity. While Christians indeed have a covenant with God based on faith as Abraham did the New Testament makes clear there are differences between that covenant and ours. Nowhere in the Gospels, the Book of Acts, the Apostles Letters or in Revelations are Christians encouraged to have many children. We are, however, repeatedly encouraged to bring many unbelievers to Christ. Similarly we are not called to be a great nation as Abraham was but to realize our kingdom is based in Heaven and our riches are to be freely given to others. These truths are so clear in the New Testament it is hard to comprehend how they can be missed by those who profess to live by the Bible except that faith in the wrong person or group can blind even a sincere person to the obvious. Truthfully Michelle Duggar seems like a genuinely kind and loving mom and Jim Bob a calm steadfast father. The two have given their children a lot and all parents are highly imperfect. I'm just glad to see their children breaking free from false teachings that cause so much harm. Good for them!

It's sad how a monster like Gothard used Jesus, a loving man who promotes justice and fairness, to create a cult that protects abusers
She seems to be in an overall more well-rounded place, with healthier boundaries, and a deeper relationship with God. I am a bit concerned with the birth control comment, because not all BC is greenlighted by God's teachings, especially that which would potentially cause abortions. I would hope that we would all delve a little further to see what harm hormonal BC can cause our bodies and our futures. I wish Jinger and her family many blessings.
Out of all her siblings I wonder what Jessa thinks of all this cause Jinger and her and very close.
I love that Jinger has done what is best for her regarding her faith, how she raises her kids, and where she chooses to live. It’s great that she doesn’t seem hateful towards her past or her parents.

Wow, I am really impressed by Jinger. She seems so self-aware and self-assured. It's wonderful to see. I had a feeling she would be the one to break free.
She is absolutely beautiful inside and out. I am so glad she has gotten out of the cult that she grew up in. Definitely gonna read her book.

Jinger, if “people magazine”, a God-hating magazine, is happy to interview you… it is fair to say that Jesus Christ is not glorified in anything that you have to say. you have cast the true Jesus aside so you can worship your own “form” of Him that tolerates your self-centered desires. it is super sad. Jesus is worth more than that.
