I've been watching the Soft White Underbelly videos for a while and it's really awesome to see him breaking it down with Joe like this. I still support finding help for these people, though.

Is this guy making a living off homelessness and complaining he can't help them cuz he's too busy (exploiting the homeless)?

The one thing about Mark that stands out is you can tell in his interviews is he has a caring heart for the people he interviews. I've seen him time and again give folks money for lunch and even got one woman a motel room for the night. My favorite segment of his is the Whittakers from West Virginia. Mark acknowledges all the family members amd treats them like human beings. Mark you deserve more than what you get credit for. Bless you brother

Some of us had " a bad day at the office ," and the repercussions of shit dominos falling in repercussion to ended up in fucked up situations that we pray every day for a way out of that's not trading one type of slavery and oppression for another .. if not for Christ no hope for man exists .

I worked with children in state custody for over 20 years and a shelter with women that were sex trafficked or prostitutes. A few things they all share. Drug addiction, mental health issues, childhood drama. Although I am a Marine corps veteran I have led a wonderful life compared to these people. Mark is absolutely right. You have to want to get sober and your life together. It has to be you!❤

We don't have a homeless problem, we have a child abuse problem. Homelessness is just a symptom of the bigger problem.

When Joe started talking about having kids and the peoples stories having childhood sexual abuse in them. Mark got REAL defensive…. well not defensive but confrontational? Annoyed? He's just like "Yeah. I know. I've been in the thick of it for YEARS. I know. I Knew." Almost felt like he wanted to say "Yeah! No shit!"

I have mixed reviews about Mark, upon careful observations of his personality. Then he says "I live in the exact opposite actually, I go from the best side of town to the worst! A drastic change!!!" With that smirk makes me cringe and have reservations about him all over again…

All the people who thinks his doing the right thing are full of bs, he’s a selfish, egocentric mf! And all the people he interviews are so fascinating for him! (He said it) and he won’t post all the interviews because they’re not as interesting as the messed up ones. He kept interrupting Joe! Talking about how awesome he is, how much he works and his mother’s “unconditional love” that was never tasted because he was always an awesome kid, who barley drink, never smoke, or do any drugs. 😂 not his fault I guess, it was all the “incondicional love “ meh!!!

I work with the homeless population and near everything under its umbrella (trafficking victims, addiction, etc) – if you find yourself in a situation like this, and things seem to be at their worst, please keep pushing on. Push through the legislative red tape, lazy case workers, hand-offs from org to org, etc.

There are committees out there that work together as well as they can to try and get you back on your feet, and if you run into a burnt-out employee somewhere, keep betting on yourself – there IS someone in the administrative reeds that want you to succeed.

And if you feel stigma or judgement and the like, know that the source of it doesn't know YOU, or what you've battled through. They can't see past a stereotype they created for themselves from both not respecting the circumstances, AND how close they are to possibly being in your shoes.

The hotel in the Netflix series where a woman fell into the water tank on the roof is the Cecil hotel. Not the Jerome hotel. Who the fuck is gonna stay at the Jerome hotel anyways? It sounds worse than the Cecil actually is.

Mark, you mentioned Vancouver, BC, Canada 🇨🇦. Would you do a collection of SWU, from there? Since Canada has legalized drugs, I am curious how Vancouvers skid row differs,in comparison to LA's.

Dude is right you can't reach out and help one person . 90% of the time they're going to f**** that chance you give them anyways… I was an addict. The only thing that could stop me was me….. Mindsets can be changed… But it is on an individual basis and it all stems from bad parenting….. Start there and you'll fix homelessness and drug addiction… Don't hit your kids f**** boomers

I’d like to see an island rigged up with cameras to observe several groups of 100 homeless each on their own, in nature. Each group set have different parameters to find which is the most successful. For example, one group has zero guidelines and interaction from medical and rehabilitation staff while others receive full detox, training to hunt and grow food along with supplying tools.
