It's pretty common knowledge not to post personal information on-line… life is so much better without social media… I ended up with a stalker for 2 years(until I deleted facebook, and changed my phone number), just for following a group that posted pictures of abandoned houses in my province… creeps are everywhere.

Actually this is common sense but for some reason people do not seem to mind letting the world into their personal details. I have never been on Facebook or Instagram and never will be. Delete them and spend time with your children instead. Keep a family album at home for memories and be safe.

Online has become a game. People show off their perfect lives and open the gates to predators.

I’ve never posted a single photo of my daughter on social media. What would be a purpose? To show off that you have a a child? For the likes?

I stopped sharing my daughter years ago and I deactivated Facebook and IG. But once the pandemic hit , I needed something to entertain me and I got back on IG but under an Alias and I don't follow anyone I know and I post my daughter looking away very rarely. It's dangerous out here.

This is exactly why I will not ever post a picture of my child on my social media account. Anyone that’s a child molester/rapist should NEVER be released out of jail/prison.

People need to have more common sense these day. You see the world getting darker. Stop being naive and protect your privacy and your families. Jesus is coming soon. Repent now and turn away from darkness to Light. I deleted all my social media and got rid of my iphone few years ago and its been so freeing. Stop trying to show off your lives and feeling good about yourselves through how many likes you get on a photo. Unfortunately many people do not have good intentions for you and most people don't want to see your happy photos. Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ who is Life and Love itself and who gave Himself fully to redeem you. Only He is worthy of FULL trust and Honor.

It’s good that she found this out but she should be off of social media all together. It’s way too easy for people to stalk you and you will not be aware less God tells you or makes the person show themselves. Everyone is alway preaching “ stay safe” y’all afraid of catching a cold but not exposing everything about yourselves for a community of people that have bad intentions smh

He r*ped a 3 year old. How did a monster like that get out. They deserve life for a r*pe against a child under 12. That's the law I want to see. The worst of the worst are able to brutalize our most vulnerable. Throw away the key!!!!!! It always leads to them killing their victims down the road so they can't talk and he won't go back to prison.

I'm sorry but I've been saying this over and over and over for years. You're basically providing free child por n to pedophiles by consistently posting your children openly on the internet…

You have to be stupid to post them in the first place. IF you post pictures, locations, etc… do so to a carefully selected private audience.

Yeah. I see it all the time on social media, especially on Facebook. Most, not all, but Most people post Everything just to feel better about themselves and to get that dopamine hit from the likes. Or to present themselves as something they are Not; the perfect little life when in reality it ain't perfect at all.

I’m 32 years old now and for a while now I’ve been saying parents should not be posting their young children online who are minors. There are pedophiles everywhere and they’re definitely lurking online watching your innocent babies, not mine! Like someone else said, once you post a photo it’s no longer yours! Someone else could save it and use it to find you or your child, if you post videos of your whereabouts you can be easily stalked. People can act like they actually know you because you posted about your whole life basically so you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. And they could definitely play tricks on your kids. Child trafficking is no joke either, my children will never be on social media and especially not tik tok. It’s always the parents fault, they’re the ones that don’t know any better sadly and their kids will have to pay the consequences in the future. Plus I know a lot of parents are exploiting their children on social media for FAME. This is a very sick and sad world we live in, and I’m not excited about having this conversation with my kids in the future but it has to be done.

Maybe its only victims who understand the risk…even online dating shouldn't include mention of your kids. Ever considered, its them your potential date is interested in, not you.

How can any parent be so naive?
As a retired nurse, teacher, and parent educator – to quote Eddie Murphy – "I have seen shit that would turn you white!"
I told and continue to tell every parent I encounter, "Posting your child's picture online is an open invitation to every real-life monster out there to make the most important & most vulnerability people in your life their prey, and their next intended victims."
As a parent, I have read countless articles and seen innumerable news stories like this – many that end in tragedy; I cannot fathom how anyone could be so unaware of the realities of the dangers of (what one convicted offender referred to as) "advertising your children on line."
"I didn’t think it could happen to me," is no defense and holds little comfort when your child's life is shattered (or taken) as a result of intention naivete.

You never think that posting a picture online could be harmful to your family. You should! I had my son 18 years ago. I knew then to not share photos of him publicly. Because I don't control it strangers do with his photos. When did we get so stupid that this needs to be said? Do you want all of the pedophiles of the world to see your children? If the answer is no don't put photos of them online. Duh.

I hate that my partner's family posts pictures of our baby. Even without the location and everything…it is a human being who cannot yet decide for himself if he wants to be seen by others. But I am always the bad one if I tell them I don't want his pictures on any social media platform. They just don't understand that it is not necessary to post pictures on the internet. And honestly…it is a selfish thing to do in my opinion.

Sounds to me like she wasn't using her social media accounts safely. I have very few fb friends (148) and I have known them all for over 40 years. Most are my family. Zero strangers. Zero old neighbors. No friends of friends. You can't see where I work or live. I've never tagged myself at a location until I was leaving. Most of my pictures are friends only. I mean you have to be smart in all aspects of life. Social media can be a valuable communication tool if you use it correctly. It's great for us to keep up with our 7 adult children who are in various parts of the world.

People that open their lives and share "private" pictures of their families lives, have now exposed their "private" lives with STRANGERS. What would you expect to happen from a very sick world? Learn that your need to be in the light of others is a real problem. You are sitting yourself and your family up for an invasion from STRANGERS.
