I’m an SLP extern and HIGHLY recommend looking into autistic creators and voices when it comes to services appropriate for autistic people. ABA is highly frowned upon in the autistic community. I recommend looking into neurodiversity affirming practices, methods, and therapists❤

Please look into the harms of ABA therapy before considering putting Lincoln into a program – coming from an autistic adult, some of those therapies can be traumatic. I know you will want to the best for Lincoln.

Hi, I have an autistic son who is,28 now. He didn't get a diagnosis until he was,13 years old
Once he had a diagnosis, lots of doors opened, and we got him into a,school for autistic children. I had to fight to get him there.
His speech was delayed but he started talking at 4.
I have friends with autistic children and we lean on each other when times are tough.
The national autistic society have great information. And can give support and help. X

Hi, I have a question regarding your children that are adopted which is Do your children have any interaction with their birth parents. I don't know their actual stories but your children who are able to answer – do they have any desire to reconnect with their birth parents and do you have such a thing as letterbox contact???. I have a particular interest because my daughter who turns 28 in the Autumn was adopted herself (I am her birth mother) and this has been and is still to this day very painful for both my daughter and myself but Praise God my daughter is very level headed even though she has inherited mental health issues which were passed down from my mother, to me and on to my daughter!. My daughter works with children and is both a teacher and head teacher. Sadly though she has no faith as in Christian Faith so this is my ongoing prayer for her to give her life to Jesus. I myself have done voluntary work with a Children's Charity in the past which sadly no longer exists as a trustee for several years as well as a Treasurer. This particular Charity specialised in adoption.
I have no idea if my brother is still alive but he has near enough the same health difficulties as Lincoln but if my brother is still alive he would be around 60 now but when my mother walked out on her first marriage including her three Sons when she got together with my father. Robert my brother was put into a home where he has been in and out of specialist home all of his life. I met him once, when I was five and I have no contact with him which is really sad and I couldn't see him now anyways – life is very complicated!

It's really sad to hear that you have to pay for all of these medical things yourself. I live in Germany and here most of these costs would be covered by health insurance. I can't even imagine how hard this can be especially with a child with special needs. But this makes me even more proud of you, you work so hard to provide for such a huge family 🥰
I loved this update on your life guys… but, please do some research before giving Lincoln ABA therapy if you end up getting an autism diagnosis… there's a lot of discussion surrounding this therapy… a lot of autistic adults are advocating against it…

Just a suggestion I would start moving everything out of your storage unit and start moving it in the house. Don't wait until they give you the all clear to move your stuff into the house. I would get everything in so when they give you the all clear then you can just move in. Move your furniture clothes, food into the pantries, refrigerators etc as long as you have power in your house move all your belongings in. Save on the storage unit cost etc.

I am a BCBA and in-home ABA therapy is such a great option to teach him functional skills in the comfort of his home ❤ I focus primarily on natural environment teaching through play with pediatric populations. ABA has grown so much over the past few years and the shifts have been so positive to better serve the autistic community through their feedback.
