I feel for you that this happened Salish but think it's amazing that you're not only not letting it get you down you're going "Ta daa!!". You are one tough little biscuit, and I think it will serve you well in life. A black eye (or two) is not fatal and will heal without any lasting effects in most cases (see your doctor though if it's bad), but I love how most of the guys are smiling or a little flippant about it. That's because for most outgoing guys an injury like this, and taking in stride is a real badge of accomplishment. It means you live fast and free and take the chances necessary to take down the Mastodon so your family won't starve. For eons this is what attracted women to men.
And then the women tend to react with shock because it's seen as a blight on your beauty; and beauty is what attracts men to women. Although there are some really cool men out there who are attracted to a beautiful woman who also is not afraid to face life head on (well, face-on!) and take some risks.
I like your videos and got to know you and appreciate your skill and personality in the videos with Nidal. And then when I saw the video thumbnail with the word "accident", I had to click and see that you were OK and that your beautiful spirit was carrying you through this.
I hope you heal quickly, but still get to flash that badge of accomplishment around a bit.
And thanks to Jordan for sharing your photography and your daughter's journey with the world. May those who love what you share multiply and crowd any haters off the planet Earth!
