Two days ago I spent about 13 hours chasing storms across central Arizona for what’s known around here as a “transition event”, which basically means post-monsoon when low pressure systems move though, wipe out the monsoon high and set the stage for fall/winter. These systems tend to have dynamics that produce supercells, shelf clouds and even tornadoes. Fun day, not a ton of photogenic stuff, but a couple good time-lapses!

This is likely my last real chase of the year/season. I’m sure I’ll get out for storms down the road, but I’m now swamped with weddings and family photography until December, not to mention soccer tournaments for our son every other weekend!

I was getting some shots of this from my back patio that day. From my vantage point, the thing was so incredibly HUGE, I wasn't initially sure what I was looking at. But after getting video and a few still shots, I stood out there in awe, and wondered if YOU were out getting time lapse of it! LOL. I got some decent shots (though amateur) with my cell phone. Almost took a drive to see if I could get a better view from another location. Got some crazy cool weather out of it. Mother Nature is AMAZING! Can't wait to see how your time lapse turns out! ⛈
