Time and time again, the world needs to be reminded that it took the assassination of an American president to blow the doors open for the great success of the Beatles and the evil, despicable acts of the lbj presidency.
    Checkmate for both sides.

She should have asked him about that.Beatles album cover in which they were all holding mutilated and bleeding dolls. It was. Around for a few months before being replaced. Wonder what they were referring to? Hmmm all coming out soon.

That Liverpool accent gets stronger when it’s on the subject of the Beatles and she’s sitting there thinking β€œis it him”?

It always amazes me how the four of them could keep so grounded after immense fame. Paul rode the bus in NYC when doing the Letterman show because he liked feeling normal. A woman recognized him and asked, "Are you Paul McCartney"? Paul responds, yes. Woman: what are you doing on a bus? Paul: I like it. Hilarious. How many celebrities do that?

Makes me emotional because time just ticks away, but we're still experiencing our love and passion for them. By being born in the era of them, and getting our opportunity to interact in whatever personal way we have, our lives are better. So many popular musicians have given us that, but there is ONLY one that is THE BEATLES. Thanks, Macca.

Good on The Beatles for refusing to play a segregated concert. They were young lads in another country and only found out when they got there that it was segregated and refused to go on. A lot of people would not want to rock the boat and cause trouble, knowing they were in a racist nation with racist laws and armed cops enforcing those laws but they stood up for their values. It took a lot more guts and character than we realise.

I watch so many Paul interviews and over the years some of the stories change and I don't think he is making things up but all this was 60 years ago and he is 80. He probably can't actually remember much of this at all. I cannot remember entire holidays from my 20s and I'm only in my 50s.
I say this as years ago he said the number one story was false. The trip was planned long before they knew they would have a number-one song that week. It was just part of the incredible luck that went along with the incredible talent of The Beatles.
Whereas all these years later he probably believes that he said "Let's make sure we have a number one" because people have been saying git was planned for so long he believes it.
Maybe he does remember but cannot be bothered explaining it here. It must be easier to just say, "yes it was planned".

And to think (with the benefit of hindsight and history) that the 1964 Grammy for Song of the Year, went to The Girl from Ipanema, beating out I Wanna Hold Your Hand.
How strange, when you consider now, the import of those respective songs of history – 'Ipanema' is the quintessential 'elevator music' song, while I Wanna Hold Your Hand just exploded the British Invasion onto America.

Every time I see a new McCartney interview, I think thank God, the world is still okay and safe… to think that this is the same guy that my Grandad used to see on the music scene in Liverpool when he played the Cavern with his banjo band! Wow!
