In this video, I recall the events of the last two weeks as this scandal around Baleciaga’s holiday gifting campaign unfolded. I provide a detailed timeline of the events, as well as background information for many of the elements involved. I share my opinions and perspectives as a photographer, and interpret some of the events through the lens of professional photography. I also interrogate the question “who is to blame?” for this situation/ campaign, and where did things start to go wrong?
I approach this situation without sensationalizing the intentions behind these failed Balenciaga campaigns, and try to find reasonable explanations for the photos without letting anyone off the hook for the final products. If you’ve been curious about how deep this rabbit hole goes, then this video is right for you.

That was excellent. Thank you for taking the time to do such thorough research, and your thoughtfulness about the people and businesses involved. So often on social media, surface knee-jerk reactions are expressed and then repeated and repeated. I thoroughly enjoyed this!
Spectacular video! Finally someone who doesn't go down the path of a cultist conspiracy. It was sooo refreshing to hear your perspective on this situation and not supporting any of it with those so-called "researched facts" that blew up which are just misinforming clueless people on this whole thing. Thank you so much for this video
Interesting. I had never heard of this story before this video but then I have a rather limited diet when it comes to news consumption these days.
I liked your analysis, other youtubers did not give themselves the task of analyzing and investigating further and they only stayed with the conspiracy theories. I can say that I do digital architectural perspectives in 3d and it happens to me that I download models of furniture and accessories so that the architectural scenes look more real. The point is that I download 3d books to fill the scenes and never read the titles. This situation leaves me thinking about the times I have placed things without paying attention to what they say. So I kind of identify with the photographers. Still it is a very complicated subject. Sorry if there are grammatical errors, I understand English perfectly, but I don't know how to write it very well. Very good videos.
Thank you for looking at this from your prospective. Also, the room behind you is gorgeous! The music is also a nice touch.
So, just an update for you all, they drop the lawsuit against the site designer, and that company in North six. It’s all just for show. They are truly sorry about what they did. I have a hard time buying this whole thing that the documents were used for some show or something, they tried to get away with it, and they failed. We just need the celebrities to genuinely. Do you know it’s this company. Designer brands are only expensive because of people like Kim K
of course they would blame the photographer – what about all the directors who created that weird bdsm bear product? It makes me sick how artists like him are thrown under the bus.
Great video, so informative!
Similar PR pattern as with Benetton in the 80ies, just add „social media“ today…
This was so interesting ❤️
Really interesting! The cluelessness of these guys Really puts a new spin on the term "Read The Room!" Ha ha.
Great stuff. The question you asked at 25:25 – who is balenciaga? – seems elementary or even silly at first glance, but I think really gets at the heart of the issue. Anyways I was out of the loop on this stuff, I’m not really a fashion or photography guy, I just like this channel. So thanks for the summary too.
I love the video. Because everything is stripped, scalped, analyzed and conjugated, in a very clever and logical way. Undoubtedly an important work that deserves to continue.
One comment about the buzz created around two advertising campaigns I question whether aren't there enough really important causes for humanity or, at least in a less ambitious way, for the local community than having hysteria disturbance because of, eventual, people and companies mistakes whose relevance to the day-to-day life and history of humanity is null. Aren't there really important causes to inlove people's passion and to go to fight against? The Internet is like football, both helps evidence disturbances of human behaviour.
Once again, loved this video and, appreciate a lot you work.
This was soooo interesting, I love the video essay style!!! Also the research??! This was so well executed, plz do more 🤩
