I praise Mani Sir for his ingenuity… It's not easy to encapsulate this magnum opus into silver screen…kudos to him..
But I disagree with Partheeban….the music is a total disaster…
It's nothing like Karnan, Veerapandiya Kattabomman, etc. In fact, he can't even beat himself! Songs like margali thingal allava ( semi classical) would have been suitable…
There are so many difficult words in songs… Can you sing them again or at least murmur them? Why can't the poets use simple words?
AR is an excellent musician but I think he is past his prime…
Music is a big minus to this movie…..Any other musicisn too woukd have given the same impact!
Some of them are in awe of his music…may be the younger generation, but at my age, I have seen better musicians and the best music….

DD has is the most talented anchor of our industry, she's so spontaneous, funny and charming.
Every frame of this movie was breath taking, nobody could've done it better. I'm so lucky to be alive at the time of ARR and Mani Ratnam.

Ponniyin Selvan:-
When recreating a history as a movie, the role of the director is challenging- not only in delivering the story at it's original form; but also retaining the interest of the audience.
Bringing all the movie giants under one roof and offering such an exceptional spread to the audience; is definitely a humongous task.
Director Mani Ratnam has pulled it off quite charmingly. Sincere respect and love to Mani Ratnam for giving us so many memories to cherish from the chola – pandya dynasty and giving us a face to relate to each of those characters.
All the actors have been carefully hand picked by the director. They have done justice to their roles – some have more screen time in part 1 and others in part 2.
All the emotions have been beautifully edged by ARR. The chemistry between Aditya Karikaalan and Nandini have been so wonderfully brought out through the song – "veera". Kudos to ARR for being such a backbone of this mega epic film.
Much grateful to the entire crew of PS for giving us a movie of this century. Thank you

Splendid Directions given by Mr. Mani Ratnam and almost all characters (Main or Side roles) have worked diligently to make this movie Extravagant, Picture-perfect, hence a grand Success… Great team work… In Pooniyin Selvan Part 2, the icing on the cake was the amazing music given by Mr A R Rehman. Literally his tunes played with the audiences' mind taking them directly to the Land of Cholas….
In short… A piece of Art… Simply phenomenal
