William and Kate used royal photographers to help them record priceless family memories before Kate took up photography as a pastime.

When William and Kate took a brief private vacation with their kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, in 2016, John traveled to the French Alps in his formal role as a PA royal photographer.

John, who has seen many of the most famous incidents involving the royal family, had taken on hundreds of unique tasks. In our first podcast, which you can listen to here, learn more about his amazing work.

But owing to bad weather on the day of the shoot in the French Alps, the event almost didn’t happen. But thanks to John’s fast thinking, everything worked out in the end, even with George and Charlotte, who were never supposed to be there.

Prior to retiring in 2019, John, who documented the royal family for more than 30 years, described the amazing snowball battle that broke out due to a very cheeky Kate.
