Also some comic covers, Witch Doctor Superman marries Jimmy to a gorilla. Jimmy Olson gets an island and keeps superman away by having kryptonite boulders in catapults.
Truth, Justice, and the Deadbeat Dad way.
So when does the tarnished age start?
there was a super baby special in 70s or 60s pretty good
not as good as supergirl pet special…
id loe to see you do your top 10 comic panels (various versions and topics)
I did not expect Larissa to melt. I assumed she was just brainwashed.
I don’t know which is worse…
I Remeber A Lot of these as a Kid in the 60's and a teen in the 70's…,
How many "Kids" did superman have in the Golden Age?
You Know what the funny thing is Wolverine dodge child support had multiple kids.
Carl: "I like pulling trains."
Superman: "Caaaaarl, that kills people."
Well thanks. I guess I’m going to go watch Samurai Jack now.
If we just had comic covers of the silver age to go by Super Man would appear be a misogynistic sociopath with commitment and abuse issues.
Please make a vid about the creation of the Crime Syndicate in the silver age❕🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❕
If he was really her son, how can a human woman give birth to an ultra strong Kryptonian without gettting ripped in half?
A secret marriage of Silver Age Silliness and Bronze Age Bathos!
This actually reminds me of an episode of Lois and Clark with a similar premise. I wonder if it was inspired by this story, or whether it's all just a coincidence.
Another LL?, Superman…bruv
I have a question Sasha does superman owe child support for superboy from the reign of the superman era?
F for krypto
I love how disdainful Silver Age Superman could be towards other people. Nowadays, he always comes across as being supportive and compassionate almost to the point of seeming sappy, but in the Silver Age? Superman only has compassions for those who do not inconvenience him!
You think when he meets Conner years later, he just flashes back to this moment like "absolutely not."
Superdickery ™ at its finest.
On the old Adventures of Lois and Clark they did a variant of this for that show
Superman:"Up up and away! from child support."
Face it. If it isn't Mxy, it's Red K.
I just had a thought on a name for a NEW Superman title. “ Superman’s Baby Mama Larissa Lenox.” Each issue has Larissa and Lois making each other’s lives a living hell.
Clark really went and got kryptonite to use on a toddler. The lengths he will go dodge child support is amazing.
Did it meh you? lolololololol
You should do that fun house one! It looks amazing.
Annnnndd … thinking about it, the ring would have been another big clue. How could he engrave those words on the inside of the ring with his fingernail? His finger doesn't bend like Plastic Man's.
I figure Mxy would have revealed the joke when Superman would have gone public about his super-son. That would have been the ultimate gotcha! for him.
Who knew that Superman can pull a Britney Spears! 🤣 All jokes aside I'm kind of disappointed that it was all a front from Mxy.
This comic inspired an episode of Lois & Clark, where a woman claimed to be the mother of Superman's love child (that also had superpowers). The kid even had the same fascination with “choo-choos."
I think we should all take a moment and reflect on the idea that, under the comics code, the only way to be a surprise father was to have a surprise marriage in the mix.
Someone wanted off the Superman book. "That little idiot…"
Is this the first time that Sasha has worn a green wig for a Superman story? It reminded me of something, starts with a 'K'…
My name is carl and i love superman, also Superboy went by Carl for a while.
So who knew decades after I had read that story that I would be listening to a young lady on a computer screen reviewing it.
Krypto would have made the baby out as a fake in a second.
this story has that zoom 'it was me barry' meme vibes
Not a silver age cover, but the first Superman comic I owned was Superman #411. The cover has Superman delivering a birthday cake to Julius Shwartz, which is why I got it for my birthday. Weird story. But the last page teased the cover for the next issue: Superman punching through the chest of Lex Luthor's power armor. That is peak 1980s tonal whiplash.
They adapted this in the 90s Lois and Clark TV show. There it wasn't Mxyzptlk. It was an actual kid that accidentally got Superman's powers when they were on a plane that Superman saved. Superman was struck by lightning, and that (in this particular continuity) allowed Superman's powers to be copied to human beings. The kid's powers faded by the end of the episode, though.
Superman: (hands on hips, tilts head playfully) Oh, Mxy!
Supes is a long way from a Maury Povich Paternity test episode. Our Test says Brainiac is the Daddy!
Yo the samurai jack reference 🔥🔥🔥
I mean according to that one story Myxy was almost getting tired of being a prankster so being Superman's son might be a new thing to do for 1000 years before switching to evil.
Who knew that scene in Young Justice had a basis in canon?
Bruce (talking about Conner): "The boy needs his Father, Clark."
Clark: "I'm not his father!"
With his super speed, recharging by sun light, and being the man of steal he could be the father of multiple children. I'm sure they wouldn't want to have to say superman you are a deadbeat dad…lol
"Don't they all? Somebody call Maury." 😂😂
This joke made me do an actual spit take! 🤣
Forgotten wife looks a lot like Lana Lang.
Uh, the Marriage license and ring are signed “Superman”, not Kal-El or Clark. That kind of was clue this was some kind of hoax.
