I love you 3, i wish everyone at tyt had this level of commitment and sincerity. Sadly other people at tyt do call young black boys men, and constantly undermine the credibility and message of everyone working under the tyt name.
Do you know how many people have paid the price for assuming the young, "maybe he's only 14 or 15?" black males walking or coming towards them in the middle of the day during school season or at 2am at night WASN'T up to anything shady and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt because hey.. don't want to appear racist? For every story about some kid asking for directions being shot theres several dozen where someone the same age robbed and murdered someone for God knows what reason. Stereotypes exist for a reason.
Kids shouldn't have to deal with adult 🐂💩, if we've got issues, we need to keep it amongst ourselves
teach children to obey the law.
JR also noticed that on a day of celebration their were three straight individuals endlessly complaining… again.
He even mentioned it as a disclaimer of sorts. It is sad when you have to defend the practices of people you support because they themselves lacked the nuance/grace/reason to conduct themselves in a relatable enough manner to appeal to all persons (which should always be the audience, in a world that wants to leave racism behind).
White people watch the festivities of this holiday, and likely had the same takeaway as JR. Does that help the movement?
Black people really only request ONE thing from white people:
"Dear white people—-please treat us better than we treat each other."
My son is 6… so in 4-6 years… many in society will view my son as AN ADULT.
Then that’s when I’ll have to have THE TALK of sexuality and stereotypes with him. I dread both subjects but it’s part of life. 🤦🏾♀️ 🤷🏽♀️ ✌🏾👀💯

The boogeyman always appears bigger to those in fear. The GOP is grasping at straws. They are chunking anything and everything into the mix to deflect their behind the scenes agenda. Those of us who are marginalized are always being watched and judged. It is a sad truth of our society. We need to push through and bring these issues into the light. Just like you are stating here. If we normalized different races as efficiently as the GOP has normalized racism, we will be far, far, ahead.
We can make a difference and make steps towards real equality by changing and choosing politicians who will make a difference.

Many white parents teach their children to hate black children and black people at home before they start first grade so integration is not going to help.

Sometimes these issues need to be reported. Sometimes these issues need to just be discussed. Black people don’t usually get spaces to openly discuss the obvious shared experience. Living with an obvious consistent undertone is frustrating enough. Feeling like you can’t discuss it without ridicule or a racist hateful response is even harder. Black reporters or celebrities usually act like they’re immune or exempt from the “shared experience”.
Sad but nice you guys allowed yourself to be personal and real about how you’re affected by the stories you cover. No way any child any color deserves dark thoughts like that or to experience such horrible trauma so early in life. Humans can be so terrible sometimes. A lot of examples in these comments. My heart broke for the little guy. Every one deserves a chance at a healthy mindset.
