And now just about all of those statues are gone because of scumbags that destroyed or took them all down! BULLSHIT! HISTORY JUST WHIPPED AWAY BECAUSE OF CRYBABIES AND MOST DIDN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT MOST OF THEM EVEN STOOD FOR! ITS HISTORY PEOPLE!

Let's not pretend people. If the unionists of March 1861 could view the USA of June 2023 they would be horrified – and no civil war would have occurred

After just driving past Galena I remembered Mary Todd Lincoln’s criticism, “Grant is a butcher. I could command an army better myself.” Remarked after the carnage of Cold Harbor. And just think: some people are clamouring for reparations. Wasn’t a million soldiers dead a sufficient sacrifice? My direct ancestor was Simon Cameron, Lincoln’s first secretary of war, who made a massive fortune during and after the Civil War. His corruption was so breathtaking that Lincoln said of him, “the only thing he wouldn’t steal was a red hot stove” and sent him to Russia as minister to the court of St Petersburg, where he helped Seward to purchase Alyeska from Russia.

Why the electronic dance music in the background? This is a somber subject.

I've owned Matthew Brady's book of Civil War era photographs since I was very young. I still sit and slowly look at each page. It is remarkable.

Yeah, I remember 25 years ago, my elderly Southern aunt trying to tell me the Daughters of the Confederacy could pay for my college. I told her I’d rather stab myself in the eye. All these years later, even with student loans looming over my head, it was still the right choice.

May they rest in peace. It’s no wonder the land is filled with anguish with Americas bloody and sinful past, and present.
