When I was younger and had more time for nonsense, I liked to buy photo frames with multiple openings in the matte for multiple photos, and leave in the “original” photos that were part of the packaging. I even made up elaborate family stories about the people in the photos in case I was quizzed. (I never was, so no one ever got to hear these stories.)
Anyway, I’m older now and my sense of my own mortality is much stronger. I no longer feel I have the leisure time to pretend I have a white family with interesting back stories.
