you would really get a pregnant woman to get down on her hands and knees on a plane? srsly?

If you're on the mound have an assistant to help her.

Yep, the offending family should get the majority of it done, whatever the dynamic…then the people paid to keep things clean can actually handle their job polishing things up.

Parents should clean up after their kids but if a parent refuses to do so, there’s a reason airlines have cleaning crews come in between flights. Just as it is not a flight attendants job to clean up the plane, it’s also not their job to make demands of passengers that don’t relate to safety. Both are in the wrong here.

When a lot of parents refuse to parent.. there are exceptions. Some are unable or need a little help. However, the number of Adult children who then refuse to guild, discipline and take responsibility of their offspring is becoming more prevalent & a sense of pride..

Why did the husband stand by and let his pregnant wife do that? He didn't have to be asked. Where was his compassion for his wife?

Everyone is afraid of stating an opinion, the Flight Attendant is there for safety purposes and their secondary work is for beverage service. I've worked in the Restaurant business and it was not responsibility to clean up after your children make a mess.

I never questioned it. I automatically attempt to clean up and get the child, if able, to help. If I need assistance from the staff, I ask very politely.

I would have made my children clean up their own mess, even at that age.

My mom told me (EVEN AS A CHILD) clean up after yourself, when we leave this restaurant to stack everything nicely and neatly so the workers have an easier time cleaning up the table and if we're at a fast food place like McDonald's put everything on the tray empty it into the garbage as we leave and leave the table clean! ❤ GOD Bless Everyone

This was a teaching opportunity for her older child to help Mommy out. No muss, no fuss and the older child that helped would feel capable, important and hopefully praised for being such a good helper. Never forget to say Thank you when children step up to the plate, it teaches them to say it to others as well. ❤ GOD Bless Everyone

SAME SCENERIO RECENTLY- the correct thing to do is apologize before anyone says anything to you. Attempt to clean up and usually it seems the staff will say they’ll take care of it or help as you clean! ❤ GOD Bless Everyone

Young parents today need to go thru a 7 month training before any child is born and a refresher for 2 months after the second child is born. Today you can't slap /whack your kid if they are misbehaving under penalty of law, which makes the parents lazy because they can't control the kids. Parents have become ZERO responsible. Anyone who thinks the pregnant woman on the plane was wrong because she was actually "parenting" by cleaning the mess — well now we know why America is what it is today……

    THE KIDS.
Ultimately the PARENTS, when younger kids are involved.
    END OF STORY.
    Period.

So United Airlines wanted a pregnant woman to bend over and pick up things or scrub the floor yep that sounds like United Airlines

If she can’t take care of the kid, she has and clean up after them then she shouldn’t be having more children trying to ask us to have pity on her is absolutely ridiculous and if she had a special needs pregnancy, she should’ve traveled with the nanny or someone to help her with the kids this is privileged behavior, 101

The excuse that she was pregnant and that she shouldn’t have been told to clean up is lame. She’s pregnant. She’s not disabled. Clean up after your kid.

The mom should clean it up unless there are cleaning crews around and you can flag them to clean it.

From the time I was able to walk and talk, my mother would tell me, "Clean it up! I didn't leave it like that."

Airlines have a cleaning crew that come in after a flight. If you make your passengers clean up the plane then I guess you could drop one or two of those employees and save some money. When I go to the movies or a restaurant they don't make me clean the floor. As a decent person I would, of course, clean up after my child.
